About Joshua

As someone who prides themselves in having an active lifestyle and breaking a sweat in the gym, I will be the first to admit that I am far from perfect. However, what I can proudly proclaim is that I am a hard worker, for not only myself but for those around me. I will be the first to ask if someone wants to work out, and will do everything I can to make sure my friends and family are living not only healthy, but happy lives. I don't give up easily, and I'm not the type to let my loved ones do it either. I can say first-hand that I have seen how being active and eating right can improve someone's life, and I can't wait to help others discover the same. Whether it be hitting your next PR squat, recovering from injury or illness, or just generally gaining a little weight (or losing it), I am confident that we can get there together.

Awesome trainer, really listens and works with you no matter the level you are at.

Josh was my trainer from February 2021 through September 2023. I worked with him in person and then remotely after I moved away (he created workout programs for me to follow). He greatly helped in improving my squat and deadlift form, as well as my overall strength. He is a dedicated trainer that finely tunes your workout programs based on your feedback and his observations. He pushed me to my limits in a safe manner, ensuring I was practicing proper form, correcting me when needed, and prescribing good stretches to relieve soreness. He was also very communicative. He maintained weekly checks through text. He also answered all my questions about the workouts prescribed and provided video links to exercises I was unfamiliar with. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable trainer!

After working a one month program under JLR Health and Fitness, I have noticed drastic results in my strength, endurance, and flexibility. The workouts were tailored specifically for me and my lifestyle and were easy to follow. The trainer would contact me regularly to check in on my progress, ask my opinion on the training, and to adjust workouts if needed. He has a great deal of knowledge for all types of people and backgrounds. I would definitely reach out and contact him if you're even considering a workout plan.

Josh is an excellent fitness coach. I came to him looking to get in shape for my upcoming career (Wildland fire/LE). He listened to what my fitness goals were and where I wanted to be months down the line. The fitness plan was tailored specifically for me and it was great! The exercises were creative and challenging. He has lots of equipment to keep training fresh and fun. He kept me motivated and helped me reach new limits. Josh is professional, passionate, and patient. He is more than just a fitness coach, he's a mentor and a life changer. If I was still in the area, I would still be training with him to this day. If you're reading this, don't hesitate to reach out to him! Josh will set you up for success and you'll be happy you did!

He was my personal trainer for several months and is an absolute professional. He is very knowledgeable and is eager to help people grow in all aspects of life, not just physical fitness. He practices general wellness and introduces potential changes to habits and lifestyle to help facilitate life long changes. Josh is one of the trainers who is not afraid to get into the trenches with you to fight and sweat through his well-rounded but challenging workouts. I have always been in decent shape, but it has been difficult to build mass. Josh created well rounded, (sometimes gut wrenching) workouts that helped me increase muscle mass without sacrificing endurance or flexibility. I would highly recommend Josh if you want a down to earth trainer and a great workout buddy.

Josh helped me out with knee pain with squats with the goal of bullet proofing my knees. I now pause squat with full depth “ATG” and have been gradually bringing up the weight. I prefer this style of squatting and haven’t had any knee issues since. He also helped me with barbell overhead pressing after it was giving me shoulder pain and no issues since the form and warm up advise. Thanks!

A few years back I had to have hip surgery, and the recovery was miserable. I could barely get in and out of the shower because of my range of motion, the pain and weakness was just not getting any better. I was in physical therapy several times a week but my progress had seemed to stall. I couldn't push past the pain and the physical therapist at the army hospital had too many patients to help me progress. I decided I needed help so I called my old squad leader Josh Rankin. I knew he was planning to become a Physical Therapist and in the meantime, he was a Personal trainer. He put together programming for me that started relatively easily, although still difficult for me, but it progressed gradually. After 6 months of working with Josh, I was in the best shape of my life and even successfully ran a Spartan Race. I couldn't have done it on my own, his intelligent programming helped me get my life back.
