About Kelly

A little about me: I am a passionate and enthusiastic trainer entering my third year residing and training in Denver. Prior to that I spent five years training in Boston after graduating with a B.S. in Exercise Science. I have found a sweet balance of having fun during sessions while also being as efficient and productive as possible. You can expect to have a very motivating and uplifting experience working with me!

A little about my clientele: The two populations that I primarily work with are weight loss clients or those who want to focus on function (ex. correct posture, pre/rehab an injury, improve mobility and joint range of motion, etc.). Every individual program is 100% tailored to the individual I am working with and personalized based on goals, movement limitations, health history, etc. We will have an initial consultation prior to our first official session so that I can ensure that each and every movement we go through benefits your body and will lead you to results.

A little about how we will train: As I mentioned above, we will have an interview/assessment so that I have all of the information that I need to develop your program. Here is what you can expect from that: - Verbal interview: we will discuss your goals and timeline to outline your exercise type, frequency, intensity, etc.. From there we will go over your exercise and health history to address any medical limitations, relevant areas of injury or sensitivity, etc.. This is the part where I want you to truly open up and tell me everything about your relationship with food or exercise along with what I can do to drive you to your end goal. - Movement Screening: I will have you go through seven movement patterns that will provide me with insight on your joint mobility, stability, proprioception/motor control, and much more. This may be the most important part - I will see what your body lacks and needs and where its strong suits lay. A little about each 60 min session: 5 mins Self myofascial release (foam rolling + trigger point) 5 mins Mobility drills + dynamic stretches 40 mins Main workout (full body exercises varying from person to person) 10 mins HIIT finisher

My favorite client story

Helping a client reach quite an ambitious goal. She came to me recovering from ACL surgery, 35lbs overweight from her goal weight, and only a few months out from her wedding. We’re talking about juggling the goals of rehabbing a knee, losing significant weight and being in the necessary cardiovascular/physical condition to perform a 4 day hike on her honeymoon.

This client blew me away with her hard work, willingness to learn, and mental strength to push through and hit all of those goals listed above. She lost 35lbs as planned AND ten additional pounds! She hiked with no knee pain, impressive stamina and had impeccable confidence in her aesthetics the whole way.

My favorite exercise

Elevated barbell hip thrusts!

My favorite quote

“Get in the habit of asking yourself ‘does this choice lead me closer to or further from the life I’m trying to create’ “

My training philosophy

What happens outside of our sessions matters far more than what happens during them. My goal is to provide you with the tools that will allow you to gain independence and confidence to stay on track when I am not physically present to push you. My job is to educate you on how to reach your goals outside of the hours spent in the gym with me. We will focus on recovery, proper nutrition, self-accountability, independent workouts, stress levels, etc. to ensure that you are constantly working towards becoming your best self.

My training experience

5 years at Equinox (Boston), 3 years independent in CO, and currently a year in at Life Time (Denver).

I worked with Kelly for two years while she was a trainer at a high-end gym in Boston, and highly recommend her. She is friendly, professional, and really works to understand your personal fitness goals and tailor a program to help you achieve them. I saw significant progress on my goals re weight, strength and cardiovascular fitness while I worked with her, and she helped me develop good fitness and diet habits that I continued after I moved away from Boston. Kelly has a very fun and lively personality, which means she is effective at motivating you to do you best work at each session, but without any yelling or "drill sergeant" type behavior. I'm very happy I met Kelly and had the chance to work with her for as long as I did. We still keep in touch, as I can't help sharing with her the continued progress I'm making on my fitness journey, and I will probably work with her again in the future via virtual sessions. You'll be in good hands with Kelly!

I had worked with a trainer a few years back and swore I would never do it again. I had felt shamed for not having “good” form and never felt comfortable discussing diet or nutrition due to self consciousness. I ended up with Kelly about 9 months ago and I can’t even express how different I feel both inside and out. I feel strong, confident with exercising, and proud of how my body can provide so much for me. Kelly did a 180 on how I view food, exercise, and myself. I learned that food is fuel and not the enemy; I learned the importance of building muscle and moving my body for benefits not punishment; I learned how to shift my mindset and emotional attachment to wellness. She healed years of body dysmorphia and disordered relationships with exercise and food. I feel like a different woman and can thank nobody but her. She also is so sweet and fun! Time flies since our workouts are a blast and she feels like a genuine best friend :) I’m
