My 97-year old father-in-law spent 3-months with us last summer, during shutdown. We were concerned about his losing functionality and balance, since he wasn't taking his daily walks (he normally walked for an hour a day, but our area is very hilly and the hills were simply too much for him). We hired Laura to train with him 1X1, so that he would return home in the same or in better condition than he arrived. Laura made sure of that, plus she had my father-in-law raving about how good she was and how much he enjoyed working out with her. I've worked with Laura many times in the past, whether for a training session, a HIIT class, Boot Camp, or Yoga. Laura can assess where one is in their fitness journey very quickly and she's all about proper form, strength, balance, and heart health. She's an expert in how the body works and in what works for each person she trains -- whether 1X1 or in a class. You never leave a training session or a class feeling as though you haven't been challenged. Laura does it all, she's amazing at what she does, she can train every age imaginable, and she's simply the best there is.

I've had elastic band & small hand-weight training w/ Laura, as well as spin class and "fitness yoga." That's yoga without the 'namaste' and somewhat more on the strenuous side. Sessions start w/ warm-up, end with stretching. Depending on the class there's a lot of focus on core and balance exercises. eg, band around both feet, stand on 1 leg, lift the other leg with then subsequently without tipping it on the ground for balance. Regular then side planks, then more advanced, star side planks. Classe thought out clearly. She's motivational - sound effects make you feel what you're doing isn't supposed to be easy (it isn't). Will definitely challenge you while being upbeat in a cheerful voice, also smart and fun to be around.

Thanks to Laura, I've managed to build and maintain strength during the pandemic - she creates a safe and encouraging environment, gives solid instruction, and while she adjusts workouts to suit me, she definitely has a subtle way of making sure I work hard every time. Highly recommend.
